European Federation of Catalysis Societies
Summer School 2012
1st Italian-Spanish School on Catalysis
“Recent Advances and New Trends in Catalysis”
September, 11-15, 2012
The programme consists of invited lectures by leading experts in the field of design, characterization, study and application of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts. The fourth half day will be devoted to some cutting-edge topics closely related to the role of catalysis in the six Societal Challenges indicated in the “Horizon 2020” document.
Indeed, the Summer School intends to give students the chance to follow authoritative lessons presented by experts at worldwide level and to expand and improve their knowledge on catalysis in an educational context, yet in an informal and friendly style.
A short course on presenting science in orals and scientific papers is also included.
"Chemistry without catalysis would be like a sword without a handle, a light without brilliance, a bell without sound" - Alwin Mittasch.
• Fundamentals on homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis
• Catalyst characterization: approaches, methods and techniques
• Modelling, mechanisms and reactivity
• Catalysis role in Horizon 2020 challenges
